Jesuit-Sheaner Relays ….Field Events History notes 

Year 2007      Three 190’ feet plus State Meet Discus Champions Competed in the 2007 Jesuit-Sheaner Relays.
Oklahoma State Meet Discus Champion, Geoffrey Tabor, Ardmore H.S.
Kansas State Meet Discus Champion, Luke Bryant, Clearwater H.S.
Texas State Meet Discus Champion, Tyler Fleet, Tyler Lee H.S.  
WHO won: Kansas’s Luke Bryant,  196’ 9” 

Year 2017      Discus Throw: THE TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL RECORD FOR THE FARTHEREST DISCUS THROW IS THE JESUIT-SHEANER DISCUS RECORD OF 215’ 2” set in 2017 by Gabe Oladipo, Fort Bend Hightower H.S.  “The discus was never so high in the air as it was this time”, left one official thinking, “ Would it ever come down?”    

Year 2017      Discus Throw: Zada Swoopes of Whitewright throws 150'4" to remain ranked #1 in Texas

Year 1964      The oldest meet record is the Long Jump record of 24’ 5” set in 1964 by Mike Madigan of Dallas Jesuit. This jump beat the collegiate Southwest Conference First Place Long Jump Distance Mark being held the same day.    

Year 2016     Long Jump: Jazmine Moore, Mansfield Lake Ridge soars to 20'0 edging out Kaylor Harris of Mesquite Horn at 19'2" and wins Triple Jump 40'5"

Year 1979      Michael Carter, shot put Olympian, left Texas Relays on a Friday night without taking all of his throws to drive to Dallas to compete in the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays the next morning where he set the shot put record with a 70’ 01/4” throw. and set a discus record throw of 188’ 3”.    

Year 2016      Adrian Piperi, The Woodlands H.S., set a new shot put record throw of 70’ 3” 

Year 1992      Ryan Ledlow, Odessa H.S., set the high jump record  7’ 0” 

Year 2006      Nick Frawley, Midlothian H.S., set the pole vault record 16’ 8” 

Year 2014      Desiree Freier, Justin Northwest goes 14'0" in the Pole Vault to lead the Nation.

Year 1999      Brandel Lawrence, DeSoto H.S., set the triple jump record 50’ 06” 

Jesuit-Sheaner Relays….Running Events History notes 

Year 1967      Robert Gonzales, Falfurrias H.S., Texas’ top distance runner, left Falfurrias, in deep South Texas, drove  by Memorial Stadium in Austin with Texas Relays in progress, driving on to Dallas to run in the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays where he set the now 52 year old 1600m meet record of 4:08.4. Texas Relays did not run the 1600m event at that time even though Robert Gonzales requested that they do so.                                

Year  2015     Carter Blunt, Frisco Independence H.S., set the 3200m record 8:57.01 

Year  1990     Justin McLemore, Waxahachie H.S., in sleeting, near freezing weather, ran extra hard to keep warm and set the 110m Hurdles record 13.24.  When asked if he wanted to run, he said “Yes”. 

Year  1998     Michael Smith, Abilene Cooper H.S., set the 300m Hurdles record 36.57 

Year  2002     DaBryan Blanton, ran against the Louisiana State 100m Champion to set the 100m record 10.26 

Year  2002     Kaylor Harris, Mesquite Horn repeats as 100m champion with new meet record in the 100m of 11.51

Year  1998     Troy Mitchell, Big Spring H.S., set the 200m record 20.55 

Year 2016     100m Hurdles - Alexis Duncan, DeSoto and Tonea Marshall, Arlington Seguin go to the wire sharing the new meet record with time of 13.34

Year  2019     Kenondra Davis, Fort Worth Trimble Tech runs 23.64 in the 200m to edge out Rosaline Effiong, DeSoto 23.73 both eclipsing the old meet record of 23.97 set by Kelcie Simmons of Leonard in 2017

Year  1991     Deon Minor, Paris H.S., set the 400m record 46.09 

Year 2012     William Stovall, DeSoto H.S., set the 800m record 1:51.48 

Year 2019     Bailey Goggans travels from Marble Falls and is rewarded with a win the the 800m with meet record time of 2:08.80

Year 2010     Chelsey Sveinsson, Greenhill runs 4:45.2 in 1600m to break long standing record set by Erin Bedell, Plano West of 4:49.9 set in 2004

Year 2018      DeSoto H.S. set the 4x100 Relay record 40.54 

Year 2018      DeSoto H.S. set the 4x200 Relay record 1:24.93 

Year 2018/2019      DeSoto H.S girls run the nations best 4x100 - 45.26; 4x200 - 1:35.43 and 4x400 - 4:43.36

Year 1991      Paris H.S. set the 4x400 Relay record 3:14.81 

Year 2007      Southlake Carroll set the Distance Medley Relay record 10.20.75  

Year 2002      Jeremy Wariner. The Gold Medal 400m Olympian Winner, as an unknown sprinter from Arlington Lamar won first place in the sprints topping Texas top ranked sprinters in the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays
