Cornelius McCastle, McKinney Boyd, Roland Sales, Arlington Bowie and LaQuivionte Gonzalez, Cedar Hill have all gone 6-8 or better in the High Jump

With the top ranked area girls in the field and those from out-of-state and the Rio-Grand Valley, you can expect this race to be another crowd pleaser.

 

Maggie Montoya from Rogers, Arkansas (AR#1-4:58.60 in 2011); ESPNHS/Gatorade State Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year and
  six time Arkansas State Meet champion in the 800m, 1600m, 3200m, 800m indoor, 1600m indoor and Cross Country. 
Meghan Shea, McKinney (4:57.90 pr); placed 2nd in the 1600m and 3rd in the 3200m at the 2011 UIL-4A State Meet
Emily Perez, LaJoya Juarez-Lincoln (4:58.89 pr); placed 4th at the 2011 UIL-4A State Meet and 2nd in State Cross Country Meet
Maggie Escobar, Boswell (5:02.08 pr); placed 5th in the 1600m and 2nd in the 3200m at the 2011 UIL-4A State Meet
Courtney Kriegshauser, SL Carroll (5:02.60 pr); (TX#2 indoor) Placed 2nd in 5A State Cross Country Meet.

Ashley Jacobs, Arlington Lamar - ran 5:08.84 at the Disney Classic in Florida last week. Ranked #5 in area as a Freshman.

Four of the top 6 hurdles in Texas are entered in the 110m Hurdles - Bryce Grace, Bryan Adams (TX#1) placed 2nd in 2011 UIL-4A State Meet; Tequille Jackson, Lancaster (TX#3); Jaron Thomas, Midlothian (TX#4); Brandon Crear, DeSoto (TX#6) along with standout hurdlers Micah Nelson, Celina; Reggie Davis, South Grand Prairie and  Jordan Bracy, Mesquite.

 

Bryce Grace, Bryan Adams; Ben Thiel, Celina; Tequille Jackson, Lancaster;  Brandon Crear, DeSoto; Reggie Davis, South Grand Prairie all come in to the meet with low times on the 300m Hurdles.

      4A and 5A divisions run together in these races with the top seed in one "hot" heat

 

 800m

 

Nine coming in with times of 1:57.7 or better. Look for records to fall as Brady Turnbull, Frisco Liberty; William Stovall, DeSoto (TX#2 indoor); Trevor Walker, McKinney Boyd, Clay Stocker, North Dallas (TAPPS State Meet Champion) and others compete with Hector Hernandez, Killeen Ellison for a medal.   Hernandez placed 2nd in the 2011 UIL-5A State meet with a time of 1:51.35.
 

 800m starts at 2:40 p.m.

 

1600m

 

This race is loaded with Trevor Gilley, Southlake Carroll who ran a 4:09.37 at the 2011 State Meet; Troy Taylor (TX#3) and Zack Kirkland (TX#2), Justin Northwest; Brady Turnbull, Frisco Liberty (TX#5); Cody Campbell, Gunter; and Houston Strake Jesuit runners

Aldrich Bailey, Mansfield Timberview - finished the indoor season ranked (US#2i) in the 400m - 46.07 and (US#1i) in the 200m – 20.99 (US#2 All-Time). 2011 UIL-5A State Meet Champion

Richard Gray, Duncanville ran an outdoor pr last year 46.79. Ranked (US#6i) and (TX#1) this year. Placed 3rd at UIL-5A State Meet.

Southlake Carroll, the U.I.L. State Meet cross country team champions and Houston Strake Jesuit who was runner-up to Carroll have already said that they will be out to be number one in the nation in the 4x1600 meter relay after this meet.  Unofficial National Record is 17.04.7 by McCullough High School, March 1, 1986.

 

There may be some new meet records and new national rankings after the relays in this meet.

    …2012 Honorary Referees - Bill Melton and Michael Carter

 

Bill Melton, longtime Texas Relays announcer, is Announcing his 6th and final Jesuit-Sheaner Relays before retiring at the end of this Season to spend more time at his home in Colorado. His Track and Field Announcing career covers 47 years.

 

Michael Carter is the American national high school record holder in the shot put with a mark of 81 feet 3½ inches. He is the only athlete to win an Olympic medal and a Super Bowl ring in the same year and he still holds the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays shot put meet record set in 1979 with a throw of 70-0Ό.
