Joseph Bell was a multi-faceted athlete and notable scholar while at
Jesuit. His athletic abilities saw him excelling in football and in track.
He lettered in football all four years specializing in defense by leading the Rangers to two TCIL State Football Championships in his junior and senior years. His accomplishments on the gridiron won him many honors. In his senior year, Bell was named Defensive Player of the Year, received TCIL All-State Honors and made The Dallas Morning News Greater Dallas and Dallas Times Herald All-Metro teams.
In Track & Field, Bell was a three year Jesuit letterman, winning MVP honors and racking up many 1st place awards in individual events. His
most significant Track & Field accomplishment was winning TCIL State
titles his senior year in both discus and shot put.
Bell further distinguished himself by going on to play football for the University of Colorado where he lettered three years, was on a Big Eight
